ABOUT USDeborah
Spongle-Taylor was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. As a small
child she was always creative in one way or another with passions in
art and music. In 1974 Deb moved to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, where
she met her now husband and partner in all things art, Chuck
Taylor. In 1981 they opened the “Copper Doll
House” in Lunenburg where they sold many interesting varieties of
art and collectable figurines which they created from recycled
materials. In 1982 they married and in 1985 moved to an
18-acre farm on the Medway River where they raised their son,
Clay. Their studio there became well known among visitors from
Europe. Today we find Deb painting full time in her Studio gallery at 142 Payzant Street, Liverpool, Nova Scotia (Port of the Privateers). She is known for the unique pieces of wood she paints on, actual fishing and river boat pieces discarded and left for her to find and give life back to from under her brush, as well as painting on canvas and clothing. She also offers greeting cards of her art. Along with paintings you will often find sculptures, stained glass, rug hooking and one of kind driftwood furniture built by the couple. Commissions are accepted at the discretion of the artists.
