FELT FOLK Something
New for Deborah in 2009 , Needle Felting Sculptures which she has named
"Felt Folk". Needle felting is a fairly new craft from the 1980's
and has become very popular in the past couple of years . These
sculptures are created with no glue or sewing only raw, pure wool
roving and a barbed needle. The wool is poked with the
needle thousands and thousands of times ... over and over again
the wool is fused together with these barbed needles only. They
are sometimes glued when needed to their standup props, other than that no glue is used. They are always one of a kind, each one absolutely unique. Deborah does commission caricatures of people from photos and plans to soon be sculpting from wool your favorite pets as well. Look for Deborah this 2009 Summer on the waterfront by the Tourist Bureau in Liverpool on some fine days demonstrating her different arts, or come by and visit her in home Studio/Gallery by chance or appointment year round.
